Terms of service
Plain language, because terms nobody reads help nobody.
Last updated: 2026
1. The service
LocalPhotoTool (localphototool.com) provides browser-based image tools, currently an image compressor. The tools are free of charge, require no account and are provided as-is.
2. Your content stays yours
You retain every right to the images you process. Because processing happens on your device, we do not receive, host, reproduce or distribute your content. We claim no licence over it — there is nothing for us to licence.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the site to process images you have no right to use, or in a way that violates applicable law. You also agree not to attempt to disrupt the site's availability or to misrepresent its origin.
4. No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Image compression is inherently lossy when using formats such as JPEG, WebP and AVIF. You are responsible for keeping your own originals; we strongly recommend that you never overwrite source files with compressed output.
Because the service runs inside your browser, results can also be affected by your device, browser version, available memory and installed extensions. We cannot guarantee identical output on every machine.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LocalPhotoTool shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits or goodwill arising from your use of the service — including, without limitation, any degradation of image quality or accidental loss of files.
6. Availability
We aim to keep the site available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Since all processing happens in your browser, an already-loaded page continues to function even if the site is temporarily unreachable.
7. Third-party code
The optional WebAssembly codec modules are fetched from public CDNs and remain subject to the licences of their respective projects. The core processing code runs from this domain.
8. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new date. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
